An assistant was anyone who assisted someone, usually someone who was employed by that person or agency. A secretary was a type of assistant, and also a nurse could even be considered a doctor's assistant, while a sidekick could be the assistant of a superhero.
Wilbur was Dr. Lucius LeBon's most trusted assistant, although he proved to be untrustworthy after he betrayed him.[2]
