Wonder Woman tells King Plasto an old adage.[1]
An adage is a short, usually philosophical, but memorable saying which holds some important fact of experience that is considered true by many people, or that has gained some credibility through its long mimetic use. It is quite similar to a proverb.
In order to lecture King Plasto, Wonder Woman quoted an old adage from John Donne: "No man is an island."[2]
